MasterCard sought the ability to collect content from their diverse array of blogs to create custom RSS feeds that group posts into similar foci. This would allow them to cross-pollinate content written by a number of separate entities worldwide by showcasing feeds from blogs of different origin.
MC Yahoo pipes
This functionality is similar to the way Yahoo Pipes used to work, but with added features. The MasterCard Content Hub collects items from existing blogs via cron requests to the blog’s RSS feed. All items are saved to the Hub and can be filtered by blog of origin, date range, keyword, category, and language.
The Content Hub supports several user roles. Posts can be selected for inclusion in new or existing outgoing Hub feeds by content managers. Updated feeds are then highlighted and items wait for approval by feed administrators. Approved content is then published to the proper outgoing feed.
Sites subscribed to outgoing feeds will immediately feature the new content.
